Quill Drive

After finishing the quill drive I added the limit switch for the Z axis.  I used an Inductive Proximity Sensor which I got from Automation Direct.  p/n  AES-CN-3A

 

       

 

The sensor flag is bent from some mild steel sheet and bolted in with the same bolts used to retain the ball screw nut to the quill adapter.  The mounting for the sensor is slotted to allow vertical fine tuning and the barrel of the sensor adjusts the clearance.

 

X and Y Axis Limit Switches

The remaining limit switches have been added now that the XY Yoke has been completed and the table reinstalled.

As on the Quill drive, the sensors used are Automation Direct.  p/n  AES-CN-3A proximity sensors.  Placement protects the sensors from swarf.

Data, Motor & Sensor cabling

Cabling was secured under the knee.
