I really did not want to use guy wires and I did not have many options if I had decided to do so. With a fairly substantial fireplace and the little "alcove" of the house I decided to tie into both of these. The tower was planned to be 35' and the wind load of the HexBeam is quite low.
We have had a couple of very windy days since it was put up and there is no noticeable swaying.
