Yes Virginia, the rotor unit will not fit in the bottom of this tower section. As I wanted to make the rotor/section/mast a single assembly, the bottom horizontals will be cut away. Give the loads at this part of the tower, this will not be an issue. If I had a full section or more and a heavy antenna up above I would not do this. If I wanted I could remove the entire assembly in one piece if desired.
Rebuilds of the Ham III has not occurred at this point. Didn't want to scratch any new paint....
