I elected to rebuild myself and one thing made painfully clear from the various websites I looked at is it is much easier to mount it upside down to work on it. I welded up a bracket, clamped it to the bench and then speared a box over the shaft to catch any wayward parts during the work. Fortunately the box was not needed.
